Jerry Clor is a career health care professional who began his tenure on the provider side of the business at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Clor brings a mix of clinical, research and business expertise to each venue in which he is involved.

Clor’s pharmaceutical experience began with the E.R. Squibb & Sons Pharmaceutical Division, where he served in a number of field sales capacities and home office positions such as Sales Training Associate and Manager of Sales Communications. Jerry was named editor of the Squibb Sales Bulletin, the longest running corporate publication in America and served in that roll for two years.

In the early 1980’s Jerry went to Miles Laboratories and served in a number of pilot positions in sales before moving to the Miles Medical Department where he was responsible for Phase III Clinical study monitoring. This included monitoring of 26 clinical studies in 13 mid-western states and presenting key clinical findings at International Symposia.

Jerry was part of a team that filed a successful NDA. Jerry later became involved with the start-up and development of the Managed Care Group at Bayer Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for the first contracts with managed care providers for that company.

He also garnered State Lobby experience serving as a registered lobbyist in the states of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Clor has been regularly published and was the driving force behind the development of a dedicated managed care training position at Bayer. He piloted the position of Manager of Managed Care Education, with US Divisional responsibility for training sales professionals and sales managers nationally. He also served as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of New Haven, Graduate School of Management, where he taught “Introduction to Managed Care”

Given that success Jerry was later moved to Phoenix AZ to pilot a new position, serving the West Business Area as Senior Business Area Marketing Manager. There he developed niche and managed care marketing programs.
Clor moved east to lead the development of a managed care training initiative for the US Managed Markets group of Sanofi Synthelabo where he developed a managed care learning platform and curriculum.

Upon completion of that assignment Jerry became a member of the US Managed Markets Training Team at sanofi-aventis, and continued curriculum development for both US Managed Markets as well as the traditional Sales Training department. He led the effort to define the new account manager training against performance metrics and participated in curriculum builds for Continuous Learning and specialty sales.

In 2006 Clor joined Managed Market Resources (MMR), a full service medical communications and marketing agency, Jerry was the Director of Managed Markets Training & Strategy, responsible for providing managed care/managed markets training to the pharmaceutical client base of MMR and specialized in training & development for traditional sales forces, account management training (managed care & segments), specialty training and MMA/Part D as well as push/pull through programming.

Clor became a member of the Career Training & Development Department at Roche Pharmaceuticals, Hoffman La Roche Inc, in late 2007. Jerry had team responsibility for Managed Markets Account Management training, LMS application and Organized Customer integration. Clor maintained his specialty expertise in managed care, reimbursement and insurance as he has done in the past.

Jerry was the Program Manager for Roche’s proprietary Account Manager Continuing Education Program (RAMCEP) – a unique, hire to retire, elective course environment.
Since the merger of Roche with Genentech, Jerry has worked on the integration of the two companies Account Manager training and has developed the training platform for the Genentech Employer Account team.

Now consulting to industry,Clor has served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations (AAPPO) and the Wellness Community of Central Arizona; he is a charter member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and has presented at the National Managed Care Congress in Washington DC. Currently Jerry is an active member of the Society of Pharmaceutical & Biotech Trainers (SPBT) and the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD). He has taught managed care at the University of New Haven, Graduate School of Business and is a guest Lecturer at Rutgers University, Pharmaceutical MBA Program.
